Last time was my charger, now my cellphone act wierd, jah...!!!

Yesterday I was browsing via WiFi when suddenly it's hung. Just the browser I guess but all other functions were slowing down. At the end I can't even turn off the cellphone. Got to remove the battery to restart it.

You know what I got when it was on? The calendar was dead! I can't access it from anywhere. It just blink twice and stays on the current display. Google anywhere without any solution. Even I can't back it up nor restore it from Ovi.

Last attemp, hard reset. *#7370#. Now I still trying to restore the data, one by one. Start with contacts, done it once without success... :( My primary card is in my iPAQ now... SOL... it's still reliable, at least for 2 hours for it's depleted battery.

WIth 1Mbps local link it should be fast enough to download anything from local servers. Well, I've got almost 800kbps. But for uploads... gee... it's sucks! We were familiarized with dedicated link 512kbps in/out, here with Speedy the upload (out link) is squeezed to... 64kbps!... too slow for me... :D

Read my previous post about my broken charger? So pity cause it's an 1.200mAH charger, best pair for my 1.200mA battery. I've tried using old HP iPAQ charger which has a plain USB port combined with bundled Nokia data cable (ended with MicroUSB type B), but it still won't charge, even the cellphone gives me three blinking sign (still don't know what that mean).

This afternoon I've managed to open AC-10E tri-shaped screws. Checking the circuit, it lost the power at the front hi-volt part. It should flow some current to the transformer but somehow it's gone somewhere. Being lazy checking each components, I gave up easily. Then I look at the remaining USB cable. It only has 2 wires!

Thinking shortly I cut those wires from the broken charger, unassemble unused USB extended cables from my PC, and connect them together. At testing phase, I plug the modified cable to the iPAQ charger, plug in to the power outlet, connect the ending to the cellphone, and bang...!!! It really charges! Well, iPAQ charger is only 1.000mAH, took slighty longer than the original but it saves me for spending another Rp. 120.000 for a new AC-10E.

Whaaa...!!! My cell's charger is broken! Don't know why, just suddenly won't charge. Well, it's definitely not the cellphone 'cause I've tried charge using my PC and it works (I'm charging it while typing). Check to Nokia website, it's apparently that the charger's warranty is only 6 month. I've bought this set at May 14th, 2010, been 7 months 6 days... ugh...

Now what, 3 choices: act dumb and keep going to Nokia Care, buy another charger, or keep charging from PC... doh...

Wow... what a long time since my last touch with this piece of excellence. We used this machine for web and email server for... i forget... wait... Referred from my post here to there... yes, 4 consecutive years, using 8 + 17 GB SCSI drives, UltraSPARC 167MHz processor, and 128 RAM for web server, email server, and some additional services.

Now after last shutdown almost 3 years ago, someone ask me if he can buy my old "full of memories" Ultra 1. Hohoho... I said, "wait 'till I check whether it's still can boot up or not". And here I am, reinstalling Solaris 8 in this machine.

Got to make a photo with it...

For years I'm using refilled inks for my printer. Why? It's cheaper off course, and it won't waste many cartridges which isn't so greeny (??? where the heck I got that word from?).

Anyway, since I love papercrafting, I prints alot. In fact, I have 2 syringe filled with cyan and 2 with yellow. Magenta? Oh no! I use them more than the two! Ugh... not a cheap solution either. I probably need to buy a big bottle of magenta... :D

Gee... really? I just received tech news from HP and stuck in this article. It says that the best method of storing recharged battery when it's in 40% charged. I always store all my recharged batteries at full charged. My kid's PSP & DS, AA batteries for Wii's controllers...

In my experience, fully charged PSP battery stored on Sunday can be played around 3 - 4 consecutive hours on the next Friday. Fully charged AA batteries stored inside the Wii's controller will only left 3 bar after 5 days. Umm... I have a ritual of charging all drained batteries on Sunday after the kids use them all. Drained? yes for sure. They always force the console on after auto shutdown when the battery indicator flashes. I don't know how, but it gives them a minute or two's additional playing time. The article said it should be charged when it still 10 - 20%. Hehehe...

So, how's yours?

I just build this nice Santa papercraft for our Christmas tree. It should be only one deer but I made them two to use unused paper space. Want to know Willi said 'bout that? He wants 4! Yanty even said more demanding: 9! Gosh...

For a long time using these services sending important letters (even a vehicle's license plate!) back and forth to Salatiga, just few weeks ago found that PT Pos Indonesia also has a tracking system for their packages. Go through its site, enter the receipt number (11 numbers located in the upper right below the bar code) in the site and wuzz... the detailed shown was amaze me cause it isn't available in the competitor's tracking system. I even can see who's receiving my package. What a breakthrough!

After years inactivity, finally I've managed to set Google AdSense in this site. First using AdSense for Search, then accidentally I can activate AdSense for Content that has been disabled for Indonesian (and some Asia countries) language sites.

Work overnight and see how it works. It seems that the ads can work well in English languages. Then here we come, start enriching this site with English entries... Hehehe...

Setengah hari saya habiskan untuk hobi lama: bersih-bersih. Hehe... hobi unik, pasti jarang ada yang sama. Entah kenapa, kalau libur saya paling anti berdiam diri. Kebalikan kalau hari Senin, susah banget dah buat bangun pagi sekalipun.

pagi tadi giliran mobil saya bereskan. Sudah berminggu-minggu hanya dicuci ala kadarnya. So, mulai jam 7 sampai jam 11 siang, cuci, keringin, poles luar, vacoom, gosok dalam, bersihin bawah kap mesin. Puas? Belum. Karena pas mo nutup mobil pakai sarung, terlihat kalau ke-4 peleknya masih belum dilap. Wakakaka...!! Biar lah. Dah capek.

Di sini (Jakarta), Lego Star Wars jarang sekali kena diskon. Mungkin karena barang baru, mungkin juga karena royalti ke George Lucas cukup mahal. Tapi ternyata tak hanya di sini. Di US pun Star Wars luput dari diskonan. Barusan lihat Toys R Us di sana diskon Lego, Star Wars excluded... :D

Cuma... yang saya nggak habis pikir, harga di US sama di sini kok jauh sekali ya. Contoh saja, di sini seri 6212 bisa dijual sekitar 1,7 juta lebih, sementara di US sana "hanya" dijual USD 50. Dikalikan kurs 10 ribu saja masih "cuman" 500 ribu! Apakah biaya import dari sana mahal? Eits... tunggu dulu. Bisa jadi Lego yang beredar di sini langsung diimport dari pabriknya di Cina... :D Tau' ah.

Yang pasti, saya sedang ngarep titipan saya sukses terbeli di NYC sana, "cuman" USD60. Di Kaskus jual 1,4 juta, di salah satu tokonya MAP jual hampir mendekati 2 juta.
