\nWhen I say… “I am a Christian”
\nI’m not shouting “I’m clean living.”
\nI’m whispering “I was lost,”
\nNow I’m found and forgiven.
\nWhen I say…”I am a Christian”
\nI don’t speak of this with pride.
\nI’m confessing that I stumble
\nand need CHRIST to be my guide.
\nWhen I say… “I am a Christian”
\nI’m not trying to be strong.
\nI’m professing that I’m weak
\nand need HIS strength to carry on.
\nWhen I say… “I am a Christian”
\nI’m not bragging of success.
\nI’m admitting I have failed
\nand need God to clean my mess.
\nWhen I say… “I am a Christian”
\nI’m not claiming to be perfect,
\nmy flaws are far too visible
\nbut, God believes I am worth it.
\nWhen I say… “I am a Christian”
\nI still feel the sting of pain,
\nI have my share of heartaches
\nSo I call upon His name.
\nWhen I say… “I am a Christian”
\nI’m not holier than thou,
\nI’m just a simple sinner
\nwho received God’s good grace, somehow.<\/p>\n
